Stations at St. Columbkille Church
“The Magdalene XIV” will include reflections and prayers written specifically for high school students, featuring a local performer, Christina Rohling (from Omaha Community Playhouse), portraying Mary Magdalene. In the presentation, Mary Magdalene serves as companion and guide as she recalls her memories, feelings, and insights at each station.
Why Mary Magdalene?
The Gospels clearly and convincingly establish Mary Magdalene as a reliable witness. In Luke Chapter 8 she is mentioned as one of the followers and financial supporters of Jesus just a few chapters after the call of the Apostles. All four Gospels state or imply (Luke does not mention names) that Mary Magdalene witnessed the crucifixion and entombment of Christ. All four identify her, either individually or as a member of a group, as the first to discover the empty tomb of Christ.
St. Gerald’s Knitting/Crochet Group is looking for yarn for our ministry projects. We are asking for donations from your stash or new yarn. Donations can be made from February 3-18. Boxes labeled YARN DONATION will be available and located in the church at 96th in the Narthex and at the west door.
