October: Month of the Holy Rosary
Dear Parishioners,
October is the Month of the Holy Rosary, a prayer that helps us meditate on the mysteries of our Lord. Pope Leo has asked us to pray for peace in the world during this month, and I encourage you to dedicate at least one decade of the rosary, or more if you can, for peace.
My devotion to the rosary began when I was in high school, and it has been part of my daily prayers ever since. In fact, I believe this prayer saved my life during a tragic accident in December 1992. I was praying my rosary when the accident happened, and somehow, it remained in my hand even after the crash.
There is power in prayer when we surrender ourselves fully to God and allow Him to take control. Let us all take time to pray our rosaries, especially for peace in our world.
