Hang in there! Though this is a troubling situation for our world, we also have a tremendous opportunity to join our hearts with the Lord's. Mother Teresa wrote an incredible letter to her sisters that has since been titled, "I Thirst." I suggest you take a few minutes to prayerfully read it. Holy Hour every Friday @ 3:00 PM with Holy Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet

PLEASE NOTE:
After the live broadcast of Mass concludes, and since we are now unable to distribute Holy Communion as directed by our archbishop (link to an apology from Fr. Mark), we recommend a spiritual communion prayer:

"My Jesus, I believe that you are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I long for you in my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart... I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist."

Another beautiful prayer that you can pray, especially when we are unable to attend Mass is known as the Morning Offering:

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the unity of all Christians and the salvation of souls, for the intentions of all our associates, and in particular for the intentions of our Holy Father for this month.

Thank you for continuing to support your church! During this time, it is critical that we can count on your financial gifts, whether they are $5 or $500. As you would expect, the costs of ministry continue.

If you know someone who does not have regular internet access and would like a copy of the weekly bulletin mailed to them, please request that by emailing office@stgerald.org or by having them call the office at 402-331-1955. The bulletin is also published at our website, stgerald.org.

Confessions:

We will soon publish a plan for how you will be able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturdays and eventually on weekdays.

Extend a Helping Hand

As you know, those in their elder years have to take additional precautions and may need your help! In our database, we have 1555 parishioners who are 65 years old or older. If you are interested in

1) helping make phone calls to these amazing people and check in on their needs or

2) run errands like picking up groceries or medicines,

During this time it is quite easy to become lonely. First, let us remember that the One who wants to be our closest friend is always present to us. His name is Jesus. "Lord, help us take this opportunity to draw near to you!" Second, we highly encourage you to consider forming a prayer partnership. Call a friend and see if they would like to be a Prayer Buddy, taking time to pray and converse together over the phone. You will be probably be helping them as much as they are helping you!
